Receives 2021 MD AAU’s “Overcoming Adversity” Award
Beverley Vincent, is truly a dedicated and committed AAU member. She has fully served and promoted the Amateur Athletic Union movement.
Beverley currently serves the Maryland District AAU as the Registrar and Boys Basketball Tournament Assistant Commissioner. Beverly served the AAU District as assistant commissioner in Boys Basketball under Mcarroll Nole and later became the commissioner for the 5 under boys basketball team.
Beverley was appointed on the Finance Committee and also served on the National Boys Basketball 8u team. Beverley served as the chairperson for the District Election Chairperson. Beverley is currently the Registrar for the Maryland AAU District.
She was Commissioner for the National Girls Basketball team in Orlando, Florida. She attended the National Conventions and the leadership conferences.
In 2019 when Beverly health caused her duties with the Maryland District AAU to be limited, she continued to serve in her role under she was hospitalized. In January of 2020, Beverly received a Heart Transplant at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
During her recovery and through the COVID 19 pandemic, Beverly’s dedication to community and AAU was evident as she attended virtual meetings, volunteered for events when her health permitted her to do so. In July of 2022, Beverly was a Tournament Assistant for the 8U Boys Basketball World Championship games hosted by the Maryland District at McDaniel’s College.
Beverley is the Executive Administrator for the St. Paul Community Baptist Church.
Presently, Beverley resides in Baltimore, Maryland and is retired, from Verizon working full-time in his various roles locally in Baltimore area communities and nationally in the AAU.
She is the Proud mother of Roderick Braxton and mother-in-law to Lynette Braxton.
